The design approach creates a series of neighborhoods, each with its own distinct character. The design of streets, parks, blocks, mix of building types, and architecture contributes to the creation of organic and diverse places within Great Pond. In general, the site is zoned into varying degrees of urbanization from woodland neighborhoods at the edge of the natural conservation area, to the more active and diverse mixed-use neighborhoods flanking Great Pond to the south and east.
